80 years ago today .. .

It was on this day - July 28 - in 1930, in a doubleheader against the Reds that Cub slugger Hack Wilson belted his 100th, 101st, and 102nd RBIs of the season, en route to his still-existing MLB record of 191 RBIs in a season. For context, Miguel Cabrera currently leads all MLB (by a fairly healthy margin) with 88 RBIs, which is 11 below where Wilson began his July 28.

Actually, given how many runs Wilson batted in his big season, he was actually of to a big of a slow start. He had 102 RBIs after 98 games, brought home 89 more in the last 58 games the Cubs played that year. There's a reason no one's ever seriously challenged this record.

If anyone's curious, the record for earliest to 100 RBIs is held by Hank Greenberg, who clubbed in his 100th RBI of 1935 on July 6, but hit "only" 70 more on the year.

Global Warming will affect humans greatly in the next 100 years. We probably won’t make it that long. If we are to survive the next 100 years, we have to change our ways.

First lets start with the how global warming is started. When we go to our schools in our fancy cars we think we are not doing anything wrong but when you drive a car we are releasing carbon monoxide into the atmosphere. This harmful gas goes up into the atmosphere and destroys the ozone layer which protects us from harmful rays. We are also releasing CO2 which goes up and mixes with the greenhouse which let heat in but don’t let it out. We need a little bit of greenhouse gas but too much can make our global tempreature decrease greatly. Another problem is when we cut trees and build buildings there we are destroying the trees that change the poisnous carbon deoxide into helpful oxygen.

Now global warming can’t be stopped easily because to stop it you need to stop using gas which is not really possible. The only reason our population is at like 7 billion is because of gas. If we didn’t have gas the planet couldn’t support more than a billion people and this is why. You see the only live sorce of energy is the sun but the suns energy is limted. We only get a certian amout of sunling a year and that is only enough for about a billion people. But then people discovered gas which was like stored sunlight and that is why we need gas. Once we run out of gas most of the people on the planet will die.

Now how can each endviual help stop global warming. Here i’ll tell you. We need to be more efficent with our energy. That means only use it where it is relly needed. A major amount of energy we use is used in lighting our house and we can save a lot of energy by switching to florecent light bulbs. Thes light bulbs not only save energy but they also save a lot of money. We can also not use cars just to get to a friends house which is like 5 minues away. Bicyling is the most healthiset way to get around and it is also pollution free. We can also switch to electric of hydogen powered cars. Another thing we can do is recycle. Recycling can save trees which provide oxygen.

sorry for any speeling mistakes
